Right now, I know Spring seems really far away... Hold on! Spring is almost here and soon change and new life will be all around us! Bringing hope and the promise of new beginnings!
We live in a world of inspiration available at our fingertips from across the globe! A country's food tells you a lot about their culture. Expand your horizons not only through tastes but also in the history behind these other cultures.
Life will have plenty of big moments. Graduations, weddings, childbirth, promotions, deaths. These are important times in our lives but the little everyday moments, those are what really make up a happy life.
Typically a diet is a temporary and often extreme change in the way you eat, in an attempt to reach a specific goal or weight. However, when choosing a new eating lifestyle you are committing to a long term mindset shift surrounding the food you let into your life. The biggest question out there is what is the "best" diet (or lifestyle)? There is no shortage of options these days.
I personally don't believe that depriving yourself of all of your favorite things is helpful or sustainable. Which means that throughout the rest of the day your snack choices need to be wiser.
If your read any self-help book or sign up for any self improvement program some form of journaling is always a key factor. Why is that? I was never one to keep a diary growing up but the more I learn about the benefits of journaling, maybe I should have. Journaling can help us with everything from achieving goals to building self-confidence, improving communication skills to reducing stress and anxiety. I don't think it really even matters how you journal, only that you do!
When you think of exercise, do you picture a gym with weights and personal trainers? Do you tell yourself you don't have time to go to the gym? Stop making excuses! Exercise can be just about anything!
Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? Maybe it's less about when you eat but what you eat. Make sure whatever you put into your body in the morning is nutritious fuel for the rest of your day!
Everything you eat has calories, that's kind of the point. Your body needs calories for fuel! Calories are not the enemy! However, if you are eating more calories than your body can use or too many empty calories then yes you will likely gain weight. These are the reasons I no longer count calories.
It is the time of year where we all rededicate ourselves to eating healthier! Take these steps to help you make it easier to incorporate healthy choices into your everyday life.
